Blowin' Through Town: "[..] But one of the most underrated players of the band, whom surprised us all, is Elliot Mason. On trombone, he's radiant. Between Chris, Vince and Elliot, they all slide into action, gripping notes and sending them into the audience. Then Elliot pulled a slight of hand move on the audience. On the fourth tune, Vitoria Suite: Mvt. III, written by Wynton, a Flamenco-essence composition, Elliot pulled out his bass trumpet. Rarely played in any setting, it was a surprised, but welcomed guest among the already enriching evening. [..]"

Elliot has been asked to join the music faculty at Northwestern University School of Music in fall 2008. Elliot will be a professor of music and an intricate part of the jazz studies program.
